Wet-look Lashes

What sets wet-look lashes apart from traditional volume lashes, or classic lashes? Wet-look lashes are achieved by applying volume lashes (super fine eyelash extension fibers) without fanning them out (or very little). Depending on the lash weight used and the strength of your natural lashes, we’ll pick up anywhere between 3-8 lashes, and apply them to a single natural eyelash without fanning. It gives a glossier and more heavily textured finish and gives the illusion of wetness – adding an extra level of drama to your eyes. In contrast, traditional volume lashes focus on creating a fuller, more voluminous look without the added shine, and feel and look softer.

One of the great things about wet-look lashes is that they can work for a variety of eye shapes and styles. If you’re going for a more natural look, a few strategically placed wet-look lashes in another set (wisps) can give your eyes a subtle pop, or almost an ‘anime’ type look. But if you’re feeling more daring and want to go all-out, a full set of wet-look lashes can make you feel like a total bombshell.

FAQ’s about Wet-look Lashes

Do wet-look lashes feel heavy?2023-03-02T20:52:55+10:00
They don’t really feel like anything, once you are used to them, however if you touch them, they do feel firmer and sturdier than regular volume lashes (which do feel very soft as the fibres are fanned out). Generally they should feel the same as any other set of lashes you’ve had applied by us – comfortable and weightless! We always recommend going with shorter, less dense styles if you are worried about the ‘feeling’ of lashes, until you are used to them. However, most of our first-time clients are completely surprised by how weightless all of our lash sets feel!
What are wet-look lashes? Do you do wetlook lashes? Who are wet-look lashes suitable for?2023-03-13T10:05:27+10:00

Wet-look lashes are lashes that look…wet, I suppose! It’s where we use volume lashes but not fanned out – so we apply spikes of 4-6 very thin lashes per natural lashes. It gives a look similar to classic but darker and denser. A little more adhesive is used than in normal volume, to keep the fan closed – which means the adhesion part is longer. They are a specialist set and only suitable for some lash types.

These lashes are great for those with thicker or stronger natural lashes, particularly if you have had retention problems in the past. This method does work well at keeping the lashes on for as long a time as possible. Some of our clients find they they offer improved retention (particularly those with oily hair/lashes).

If you have finer/weaker natural lashes or gaps in your lash line, this set is not generally suitable for you and we really recommend against it. They may twist more as growing out and your lashes may look gappy (as we don’t fan the lashes out, therefore can’t cover gaps in the lash line). You need a good amount of reasonably strong natural lashes for this set. If you have finer or weaker lashes and want a more textured look, Hybrid Sets offer a similar result.

NOTE: Unlike all of our other sets, wet-look lashes sometimes can’t be infilled more than a few times – sometimes we need to remove and start afresh. This is due to the way they applied making it a bit more difficult to remove grown-out lashes.

Who are Wet-look Lashes for?

Wet-look lashes are perfect for those who love classic or hybrid, but want to try something even more textured and a little more dramatic. They work best on those with reasonably healthy lashes, and full lash lines.
If your own lashes are very fine, weak or you have a lot of gaps in your lash line, it’s better to use traditional/fanned volume in this case, as wet-look lashes probably won’t be the best option. They don’t feel quite as soft as traditional volume lashes.
