At Lady Lash our infills are charged by the amount of time it takes to complete the set – so this leaves the choice up to you when you’d like to come back, and how long you would like to book. We understand it can get confusing, so always feel free to give our friendly admin team a buzz to ask their recommendation.

In a nutshell, the sooner you come back, the less time you’ll need for your infill. If you’re the type of person who likes to have perfect lashes at all times, this may mean a short infill once every 10 days. Our average infill time is at 2.5 weeks since last appointment. Maximum is 4 weeks, and beyond 4 weeks it is considered a new set

Remember that our stylists have to remove grown out lashes during your appointment. Grown out lashes are removed by gently peeling the extension away from the natural lash – almost like a banana peel on a miniature scale – this is done so the original natural lash can then have another extension placed on top. It is important to remove grown out lashes because once they’ve grown 3-4mm away from your lid, the extension on the end can cause the lash to bend, twist and look messy.

The longer you leave your appointment from the last time you came, the more grown out lashes you will have – thus taking more of the stylists time removing old lashes so you can leave with a perfect, neat set – just something to consider when booking your fills.

Another thing that can take up valuable lash appointment time is when our clients come to their appointment with make-up residue left on the eye area and lashes. Keep in mind, this doesn’t just apply to eye make-up such as mascara and eye shadow – foundation often does slide down the lid into the base of the lash line and can collect there if not cleaned properly. Not only does this mean the lash extensions won’t stick (they will pop off as the make up starts to wear away) it also isn’t very hygienic. On occasions, and in particularly bad cases, our lash stylists have had to spend up to half an hour cleaning the make up residue from the base of the lashes to ensure the extensions have a clean base to be applied to. You can avoid this by using our foaming cleanser we recommend to all clients having eyelash extensions, used every 2-3 days.

We strongly suggest asking your stylist before you leave the salon when they suggest you should come back for a fill, as it can vary from person to person depending on whether you have oily skin, have very fast growing hair, do a lot of heated yoga etc. Your first infill we’ll generally always recommend 2.5 weeks, and from there we’ll be able to gauge if you could leave it longer for next time, or if 2.5 weeks is best for you.

If you’ve pre booked your infill and have noticed that in this particular lash cycle you’ve lost more lashes than normal, you can always call the salon and we’ll try to bring your appointment forward. If you’ve lost a lot more than you expected – perhaps you’ve been on holidays scuba diving all week – please make sure you let us know so we can allocate enough time to get your lashes back to their former glory, as the more lashes you lose, the longer appointment time you’ll need to fill them back up.
