If you’ve been thinking about getting a semi permanent eyeliner tattoo done, now is the perfect time! Senior cosmetic tattooist Ivy recently attended an eyeliner tattoo master class in South Korea, to learn a quicker, gentler, more precise and less painful technique. The results have been truly outstanding, and surpass any previous techniques we’ve seen before.
Between now and 31 May, we are offering a $100 voucher with every booked and completed Eyeliner tattoo treatment, which can be used for any additional service here (including towards putting your lashes back on, or any additional treatment!)
Here are some facts about our Eyeliner tattoo:
- It can be done in a range of thicknesses as well as shades/with or without a wing – however 90% of people choose black, as it is very long lasting and fades more slowly than other colours. Brown is less popular, but some people do prefer a very dark brown. We do the top eyeliner in the treatment, and can taper it to a wing if desired.
- It’s really not that painful at all – most of our clients who’ve had both brow and eyeliner tattoo actually find it less uncomfortable than brow tattoo – and we work with a compounding pharmacist who can supply (to you, pending a health/medical questionnaire) high strength, medical grade numbing cream, which will take away almost all of the sensation.
- There is virtually no downtime. Whilst you may get a little swelling to the eyelid after the treatment, it will go down within a few hours and it will just appear as though you have a slightly darker liquid eyeliner on, which heals to a slightly softer tone and thinner line.
- Like all of our cosmetic tattoo treatments, it is done only by highly experienced, certified artists who also hold government accredited infection management qualifications. We follow the most stringent hygiene protocols, and all needles are 100% sealed and sterile single use items, and any item used on your skin is disposable. You can be assured that the treatment is safe.
- Generally it lasts quite a long time – longer than brow tattoo, mainly due to the intensity of the pigment used and the fact that the skin in this area does not renew as frequently nor have as much exposure to UV or skin renewing ingredients from skincare products. Most of the time after the initial treatment and retouch, it will be 2-3 years before a retouch is needed (some clients report 5 or more)
- If you’re a little nervous about having a thicker line and want a very natural look, we can start with our babyliner, and then thicken it up at the retouch if desired.
- You can have it done on the same day as eyebrow tattoo or lip blush tattoo, however, we generally schedule the appointment so that there is a little break between them – as it is a long time to lay on the treatment table.
- Yes (I know, terrible news!) you do unfortunately have to take your eyelash extensions off prior (it isn’t possible to do it with them on and they need to be off afterwards for hygiene reasons during healing), however they can go back on about two weeks afterwards – and you’ll have a gift voucher to put towards it! Lash Lifts can be done 3 weeks later.
- Like all cosmetic tattoo treatments, it can’t be done whilst pregnant or breastfeeding, unfortunately. It is however compatible with most skin treatments however (as skincare generally doesn’t touch the eyelids, things like retinol or active skincare don’t need to be avoided prior/during healing)
